Author Guidelines
1. Rules for publishing articles
1.1. Manuscripts proposed for publication in the journal “Vestnik of Saint Petersburg University. International Relations” (hereinafter referred to as the Journal) must be original, unpublished. Recommended size of a manuscript is from 40 to 60 thousand printed characters including spaces. Authors send manuscripts in accordance with the rules of the journal by e-mail. The decision to publish (or reject) the manuscript is made by the Editorial Board of the Journal after its reviewing and discussion.
1.2. All manuscripts are subject to preliminary assessment by the executive secretary for compliance with formal requirements, as well as for the presence or absence of illegal borrowing. In case of rejection of the submitted manuscript, a notification is sent to the author based on the results of the preliminary audit.
1.3. Articles are peer-reviewed in the manner specified in the "Regulation on the review of materials". All publications in the Journal are free.
2. Completeness and presentation of manuscripts
2.1. Mandatory elements of publication are:
— surname and initials of the author (co-authors) in Russian and English;
— information on the academic degree, position and place of work of the author (the names of organizations should be indicated in Russian and English), ORCID and contact information;
— UDC index, which should reflect in sufficient detail the subject of the article;
— title of the article (in Russian and English);
— abstract of the article and keywords in English (from 200 to 250 words);
— main part;
— list of literature in Russian and English (References).
2.2. General rules for text design.
Manuscripts should be prepared with A4 paper size settings, with 1.5 space. Font color is black, font size is 12. All manuscripts must be in Word format (.doc). Publication pages must be numbered.
2.3. Notes, references and bibliographic description of sources.
Notes are taken out of the document text down the strip. Numbering is cross-cutting throughout the text, in the order of mention. The list of used literature is made out as a list of bibliographic records placed after the text of the document. For communication with the text of the document, the serial number of the bibliographic record in the text link is typed in square brackets in a line with the text of the document. If the link is given to a specific fragment of the text of the document or the citation, the reference shall indicate the serial number and pages on which the link object is placed. Information is separated by a comma: in the text [10] or [10, p. 81]. After the list of references, the list of References is mandatory, which duplicates the list of references, but is designed in accordance with accepted international standards (see the example below). The names of all non-English sources in the References list must be accompanied by a translation into English.
2.4. Examples of endnotes and references:
