The role of the Salafi Party “An-Nur” in Modern Egypt

After the events of the “Arab Spring” in 2011, Islamists dominated the political arena of Egypt. The article is devoted to the Salafi party An-Nur. It analyzes its genesis, the reasons for electoral success, sources of funding, the role of the party among the slufyth movement of Egypt. Particular attention is paid to the role of the party after the military coup of 2013 and the reasons for the fall of the party’s electoral support in recent years. Refs 9.
