Abstract

The article is devoted to the scientific issue of revolution in contemporary studies and social science in general. The author examines classic and contemporary theoretical approaches to
the analysis of the revolutionary process and offers the approach for the studying that is appropriate for political science. The proposed research perspective focuses on the analysis of
the revolutionary process through its trajectory of political and social change in a narrow (political mobilization) and large (institutional and societal changes) scales. The author is argued
that the trajectory of the revolutionary process does not always imply its social nature, which is influenced by different factors.
