Великобритания в Тропической Африке до и после Брекзита

В статье ставится вопрос о месте Тропической Африки в системе внешнеполитических приоритетов Британии до и после Брекзита. Показано, что Aфриканский континент традиционно играл важную роль в колониальной империи Соединенного Королевства, и его значение только усилилось в условиях деколонизации и холодной войны, что продемонстрировали первый в колониальной истории страны визит британского лидера в лице Г. Макмиллана в Африку южнее Сахары в феврале 1960 г. — «год Африки» — и привлечение им внимания к будущему континента в связи с обретением колониями суверенного статуса. Однако после этого турне связи Британии с Aфриканским континентом в торгово-экономической, политической и других сферах стали постепенно ослабевать, и только после референдума 23 июня 2016 г. о Брекзите Великобритания заявила о перезагрузке отношений под громким лозунгом «Глобальная Британия». В августе 2018 г. премьер-министр Т. Мэй совершила аналогичный поездке Г. Макмиллана масштабный по своему численному представительству, статусу и замыслам визит в ключевые страны Тропической Африки в преддверии завершения серии переговоров с Евросоюзом и выхода страны из его состава. Помимо анализа двух обозначенных поездок британских лидеров, в статье поднимаются важные в современных условиях вопросы о незавершенности деколонизации, будущем политики развития и общих перспективах отношений Соединенного Королевства с Африкой южнее Сахары. Внимание также уделяется экономическим аспектам взаимодействия сторон и обновленным приоритетам Британии в условиях пандемии и вызовов европейской и мировой безопасности под воздействием новой конфигурации системы международных отношений.
